What are the maintenance tasks for gantry cranes?

The maintenance of gantry cranes can be roughly divided into three categories: daily maintenance, monthly maintenance, and quarterly or semi annual maintenance. Below, the manufacturer of Shandong gantry cranes will explain to you in detail the relevant situations of these three types of maintenance.

1、 Daily maintenance

1. Check if the keys and connecting bolts on the coupling are tightened.

2. Check the wear of the brake band and steel wire rope.

3. Check the lubrication condition of each lubrication part and add it if necessary.

4. Check if the contacts of the controller are tightly fitted.

5. Check whether the electric bell and all equipment are sensitive and reliable.

6. Check the reliability of each braking device and adjust it if necessary. When the thickness of the brake pads is reduced by half, new parts should be replaced.

7. Check the connection of bolts such as the bearings of each motor and winch drum, and tighten them promptly if any looseness is found.

8. Keep the mechanical and electrical parts clean, the ground clean, and the passages unobstructed.

9. Check the connection of power cables and lines, and promptly handle any damage or loose connections.

10. Check the operation and temperature of various motors, gearboxes, and other mechanisms. The temperature of the motor housing should not exceed the design value, and the oil temperature should be lower than the design value.

2、 Once a month

1. Add oil to the rolling bearings.

2. Complete all daily maintenance tasks.

3. Check whether there are cracks, deformations, and looseness in the connecting parts of the steel components.

4. Check and clean the motor, paying special attention to cleaning the surface of the rectifier and checking and adjusting the carbon brush. If the carbon brush is found to be damaged, it should be replaced.

5. Is the control screen, protection panel, controller, resistor, and various wiring sockets and nuts sturdy.

6. The electrical part should be thoroughly inspected, maintained, and cleaned by a dedicated electrician in accordance with the electrical equipment maintenance regulations.

7. Check the oil level of the reducer, the oil level and lubrication condition of the brake hydraulic solenoid.

8. Special attention should be paid to inspecting the hooks, drums, brakes, couplings, and pulleys of lifting equipment, paying particular attention to whether cracks and deformations have occurred. Lubricating oil should be added according to the lubrication cycle table.

3、 Once every quarter or six months

1. Complete all monthly maintenance tasks.

2. Inspect the lightning protection device and grounding protection measures, and measure whether the grounding resistance meets the requirements.

3. Thoroughly inspect the steel components, check whether the bolts at each connection point are loose (which can be determined by hammering), whether the structural components are deformed, cracked, and corroded, and if necessary, correct, weld, and paint them. High strength bolts at important connection points should be spot checked according to the specified torque.
