A gantry crane is a bridge type crane supported on the ground track by two side legs. Structurally, it consists of a gantry, a large vehicle operating mechanism, a lifting trolley, and electrical components. Some gantry cranes only have legs on one side and operate on the other side of the factory or wharf, which is called a semi gantry crane. The upper bridge frame (including main beam and end beam), supporting legs, lower crossbeam and other parts of the gantry crane. In order to expand the operating range of the crane, the main beam can extend beyond the support legs to one or both sides, forming a cantilever. A crane trolley with an arm frame can also be used to expand the operating range of the crane through the pitch and rotation of the arm frame.
1. Equipped with anti slip pads, when severe weather arrives, place the anti slip pads near the wheels to prevent them from shaking back and forth and deviating from the track.
2. After the gantry crane stops, some important components such as electric hoists and motors should be covered to prevent rainwater from entering and leaving the equipment in a state of oxidation and corrosion, which will gradually affect the performance of the gantry crane. Turn on the rail clamp of the gantry crane, then turn off the power and cut off all circuits.
3. The brake device of the gantry crane, when not in use, opens the brake to keep the gantry crane in this state. When strong winds blow, it can resist a certain amount of wind. Drivers of gantry cranes should regularly maintain their braking performance to prevent it from becoming ineffective.
4. When a gantry crane encounters a typhoon, the shaking will be severe, and the safety is low at this time. It is necessary to use some other methods to reinforce its stability. Use steel wire ropes to fix it in four directions, tighten it, open the rail clamp, cut off the power, and then place several heavy stone piers around the wheels. Through these two steps, the gantry crane can avoid being blown down in strong winds.
5. Necessary windproof accessories: snap rings, short bars, steel wire ropes, etc. are all good ways; The snap ring can be connected to the ground, and the lever can provide support to prevent the gantry crane from falling down.
For some lifting equipment that must come into contact with water and chemical substances, the standard requirement is that when the equipment surface is immersed in the substance, it should ensure strong anti-corrosion ability to prevent the equipment from corroding or damaging special substances due to long-term contact. In this case, stainless steel material can be chosen to reduce corrosion and future maintenance processes Attention should be paid to preventing electrical corrosion caused by metal foundations with very close potentials.
